I had an idea for a possibly improved tax system. Although I’m
not loyal to any political party, I do find tax reform a great idea. Taxes as
they are, are way too complicated. Simply trying to understand taxes from a
personal perspective and a small business perspective seems impossible when
alone and trying to figure everything out for oneself. Therefore, I have come
up with my own idea on what I think is an improved tax system. Foremost, I believe
individuals should pay a flat tax of 15%, they can also invest more in their
taxes if they so choose too and I will explain why. I believe paying taxes
should be a fun or an exciting opportunity. Much like crowdfunding, I believe individual
tax payers should have a large selection of projects they can choose to fund
from the government, such as: necessary government projects, secret projects (perhaps
using a non-disclosure agreement), military projects, grants, infrastructure, and
other projects that our government are currently funding using tax payer money.
The tax payers funding certain projects, perhaps can also receive rewards or
recognition after a project has been successfully funded. This can perhaps be
used as an incentive for tax payers to invest even more money paying for projects
that interest them creating a sense of improving the quality of the country as
a whole. In addition, perhaps paying taxes and choosing projects to fund can
help unite people and give them a sense of growth in a country they love or can
come to love.

Using language to say anything with consideration.
While listening to many people talk, confront, or find solutions, I have developed my own set of what I consider harmonious initiations and statements. These are ways of communicating that doesn’t involve being direct, confrontational, potentially rude, or inconsiderate. To start, I believe there are ways to state anything on one’s mind; whether addressing a potentially radical idea, a conflicting statement, revealing a harsh truth, or a statement of extreme sensitivity. These are some of the phrases and initiations I use to harmonize situations or state any idea to another with consideration to their emotions.
I believe being not too sure of oneself or too direct can
create conflict, therefore I utilize words that can be more exceptionally calming
to potentially conflicting arguments. The words “Perhaps…”, “Maybe…”, “I believe…”,
“I suggest…”, “It’s possible…”, “I would like to say…”, “I hope I can say…”, “It
is a possibility that…, “It’s my personal opinion that…”, can be used to introduce
an idea, topic, or statement that can show that is one of uncertain while also helping
a person to be honest and open to potentially learn by the correction of others.
Using these initiations can also demonstrates how one has no desire to be ignorant
but instead shows respect and an intention to keep a harmonious atmosphere while
being considerate to the ideas and emotions of others.
Other phrases that can help show respect or sympathy to
another, can be phrases like: “I’m sorry to hear that.”, “That is most
unfortunate.”, “I am flattered.” Showing sympathy and respect, it is likely that one will naturally be open to tell you more because of a demonstration of understanding and considering their emotions.
If discussing ideas, one can state their idea without
insulting the ideas of another. For example: “I agree that…”, “I agree with you
on…But I believe….”, “Your ideas are very interesting, but on the other hand my
ideas are….”, “That is a good idea, my ideas are…” This allows one to show
respect to another while also considering their emotions. I believe it’s
important to work together without insulting the intellects of others.
In a discussion when one wants to announce a statement that
could be potentially damaging or controversial, one can introduce a statement or
idea in a way where it is seen as harmless or considerate to the emotions of
another, for example: “If I may say… I would like to say…”, “If I can talk out
of context for a moment, I would like to say…”, or even, “If I could talk out
of my butt for a second, I would like to say…”This allows for one to be honest
or to state any radical idea, yet also have consideration for the emotions of others.

Is Ethics and Etiquette the key to prosperity?
I believe one of the reasons why China could be a new economic
world power in today's economy is because of their ethics and etiquettes (even though I don't agree with Chinese politics). In their country's politics, they have a
form of respect and communication which allows them to talk about anything at
which doesn't affects them personally. Japan has this as well which obviously
allows them to speak freely of new ideas and solutions. This enables everyone
to coexist harmoniously and collaborate in reforming what needs to be reformed
and changing what needs to be changed (and not for the sake of benefiting
others but the country as a whole). In addition,
I believe it’s important to introduce new ideas without ridicule and have the
ability to state the facts and say what’s truthful without any backlash or
slander from another. Part of what I want to accomplish in the United States is
to create its own set of ethics and etiquettes in which society, government,
and even the average individual can coexist in a harmonious way without
judgment, prejudices, ridicule, inflicting harm towards others, or negative reaction to truths. I believe this will be
the greatest tool which will lead the country to prosperity, innovation, and
virtue. I believe if the country doesn’t look into this now or soon (along with
the ability to reform or fix itself), it may indeed lose its position as a
world power to China or another country.
