Quotes from my journal "Stanley’s Moral Philosophy Journal to Universal Humanitarianism"

I made this journal when I was 24 years old and decided to share my quotes by selling it online for the cheapest price available.

This is a section of quotes I have wrote in my journal, "Stanley’s Moral Philosophy Journal to Universal Humanitarianism". Theses quotes were inspired by famous Philosophers and teachers such as Confucius, Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, and Buddha. My reason for writing this, because as an Ethicalist, I believe modern society has become too barbaric, irrational, and somewhat ignorant and is in need of social mentality reform. Therefore, I am writing a series of quotes I believe can help the world if not western society.

  • The two universal rules for humanity (that which everyone should abide by) are to do what is right and what is common sense.
  • Controversially, romantic love portrayed by movies, music, and media doesn’t really exist. It’s more of a fictional love. In psychology, love is defined as a series of chemicals to the brain. However, the need for companionship is what one truly desires. This is an instinctual action. If one doesn’t look for companionship, then he or she seeks lust. Nevertheless, according to the bible and the Greek word for “love” has four meanings. Storge – affection. Phileo – friendship. Eros – romance. Agape – unconditional love. Love in the biblical tense, however, does not apply to a single individual, but to society, family, and god.
  • It is proper to question everything.
  • Those who unnecessarily demand or push others over state their moral position.
  • He who sees with the eye doesn’t always understand.
  • A system is placed for order and functionality; however, one should always question if it can be improved or if there could be possible flaws.
  • Too much power or control can be used to destroy order.
  • One sees a painting, another may see a masterpiece.
  • In anger one should not include others.
  • One should never be afraid to start over.
  • One should always mind ones hygiene (especially around others).
  • Everyone is like a book with a story to tell. Every book should be respected.
  • By humbling oneself. Others will be comforted.
  • Ignorance, arrogance, greed, and pride is man’s worst enemy.
  • Thinking for oneself is an important gift.
  • Everybody is human. Every human is subjected to human psychology.
  • Mental and behavioral states are reflected upon social classes. Every social class should do their best to act above the average human.
  • One should ignore the negative opinions of others.
  • Never always believe what you hear. Never always believe what you see.
  • Even materials in textbooks can be subjected to unproven theories, old facts, and bias opinions. The truth can be for one to find.
  • One should seek the forgiveness of others if one has done wrong.
  • Rationality is mandatory for human preservation.
  • Controversially, one should never take the life of another unless another seeks to take one’s life or the lives personal to one.
  • One should often question themself. They should question themselves on the idea of what are they doing right and what they are doing wrong with the possible results that follow one’s chosen path. Furthermore, he who does wrong should look at the consequences and should seek redemption before it’s too late.
  • One should never fear change. One should embrace change and cherish their personal beliefs.
  • In life, I found it best to never get comfortable. Always do something new.
  • One should not act from emotions, but on what is logical.
  • One who holds anger, is one who has yet to heal. One who holds anger has yet to forgive. One who holds anger has yet to change.
  • Every push for a cause is from an effect.
  • One should not blame another unless the truth desires it.
  • One man should not have power over another. Another way to state this is nobody should have power over anybody.
  • Every situation demands a face. By this I mean there is a way to act according to the situation. In family; a father. In military; a soldier. In college; a student.
  • A man who lives with an uncontrollable appetite for lust lives foolishly. A woman who allows such an appetite is no different.
  • Always be mindful of others.
  • One should associate with people that will help contribute with their success.
  • Religion can be an essential, for it can be a crutch during times of desperation.
  • One can live a simple life, comfortably and fulfillingly.
  • The more clear a problem is, the more one can find a greater solution.
  • (for teens) At a teenager’s age, their brains are somewhat developed; however, their psychology and personal philosophy is still being developed. Therefore, meaning a teenager is still discovering themselves.
  • Everything needs a balance.
  • Too much of anything is bad for anybody.
  • One should think about what if they were in the situation of others; what would he or she do differently.
  • One should think about solving situations, even if it isn’t happening at the moment. This builds awareness and strategy.
  • I often think of things that could happen during a current situation. I think about what could go wrong. When I prepare for what could go wrong, it never happens. When I don’t think about it, it happens. When I think about it and it does happen, it will most likely go wrong in a way I never thought it would. Life seems to taunt me with games sometimes.
  • (Philosophical) life has no meaning and without meaning, it has meaning.
  • I can explain this by saying that everyone is born without instructions or a guideline on how to live. By stating “it has meaning”, I can state that we create a purpose.
  •  (Interesting thought) As time goes on and things change, it skips things that could have been. Example: If it were to stay in the 90s for a more period of time, imagine what else could have been invented or created.
  • (Philosophical & scientific) There is no way we can prove anything exists, except for what we can define the illusion of it’s real. However, from references of scientific studies I can say reality is not what it seems to be. Example: true reality (undefined by the human eye) sees things in RGB & UV spectrum; therefore, because of the cones in our eyes, our vision is actually an illusion. The next things I want to add is that everything we see and touch is not in perceived real time. The closest we can get to precisely real time is with a loud sound, because it bypasses our brain first using auditory instruments. Another thing is that we didn’t understand what keeps things together. We can say magnetic fields, but then is there more to it? Furthermore, what is reality?
  •  (Philosophical question) what would one think about, knowing that their civilization is exaggeratingly significant, were to end and become practically non-existent?
  • Everyone needs a purpose. To find a purpose, one should find a hobby.
  • I found that self-esteem can be cured through a hobby, dancing, swimming, singing, writing, music, reading a book, or watching a movie (controversially, being nude also improves self-esteem).
  • The greatest purpose of religions is to provide one with faith, benevolence, and universal peace.
  • One should be honest with themself in understanding what it is they really want.
  • Knowing one’s past can help one’s future or self-discovery.
  • Respect what one does not understand.
  • Seek knowledge of what one does not understand.
  • One should consider their appearance.
  • One should refrain from in-humane treatment.
  • One always has the ability to learn on their own; for that’s how the world came to be.
  • (Interesting idea) Some things work without being explained.
  • By relearning things on one’s own, one might discover something new (which could have been over looked or undiscovered).
  • Always consider the feelings of others. This can be done by reading another’s facial expression.
  • It’s best to avoid conflict.
  • It is unwise to live life in fear.
  • Depending on what I’m doing, I find it best to take the longer path then to take the shorter path.
  • It’s best to do something once and never again.

  • One’s actions has consequences.
  • (For parents; controversial) It is most wise to sit one’s child in a silent place and carry serious conversations. One should communicate as if in the shoes of that child. This will give you greater understanding of one’s child.
  • Nobody should unwillingly change or be forced to act a certain way, one should be themself, because originality is what will help define you.
  • The mainstream mentality is a defined and illuminative frame of thought. It is best that one should make decisions for themselves.
  • Be afraid of nothing, for in the end we are all a family of ashes.
  • Life is a learning experience. With experience, wisdom and a story.
  • It is my belief that when we die, we go through a dying process, then sadly sees to exist no more. As we die our neurons in our brain turn off and die, in doing so one gets the feeling of at first tingling sensation, second as if being chewed on, and finally feeling as if being bitten until we fade away into heaven, the afterlife, or in my opinion out of existence.  In addition, we should make life a pleasant experience for all.
  • Even though my idea of life after death is non-existent, I cherish yet would be free to give up my life willingly. My relationship with death is a respectful one. I can say I do not fear death; however, I fear the way in which I die. The idea of dying a meaningless death or going through suffering or major pain, make me unease about how I die. If possible, I would like to die of old age, in my sleep, or in a way that I can stage my death in a pleasant fashion. Furthermore, I also like to discuss the opportunity of how I should get buried. I don’t want to be buried in a cemetery like the common person. I would like to be buried in a large field. On this field, I would like to be buried with a tree. The tree must be a Japanese Sakura tree, because it symbolized beauty, life, and the passing of seasons; for me this is symbolized that life is beautiful and it will continue long after one is gone. It also means that the change we do today will change the future for when the Sakura tree grows, it will blossom even more and will smell more heavenly. In addition, I would like the field to be in either a remote area or in a lively park. Furthermore, I would like a simple tombstone monument that has my full name, date of life, and the kanji (kokoro; heart, mind, spirit) on one side and 創造力 (Souzouryoku; creativity) on the other. This to me is a perfect resting place.

  • I’m a scientific thinker; however, I have respect for things I do not know and cannot explain.
  • Everything is worth learning; including conspiracies. I found when studying conspiracies (such as shadow government or aliens), it is best to use my idea of the “one foot in, one foot out” method. You take the info, but do not believe it entirely. With further research and evidence, one can disclose any false information. In addition, conspiracies should be looked at as if reading a fictional book. Nevertheless, if a conspiracy wants its viewer to take certain measures, it is critical that one refrains from a direct response and study the material well. Understand the source’s motives. Is it too bias? Is the information accurate? Who is behind the source? What are the outcomes?

  • Teenagers should respect their parents and elders. Furthermore, it is within reason that a teenager can resent their parents if their parents undoubtedly mean no good.
  • Teenagers are subjected to irrational decisions. If being told of the consequence and the teenager ignores useful advice, it is proper for him or her to learn for themselves.
  • Teenagers should have more understanding of the consequences of their actions.
  • After one goes though savvier consequences, one should learn from their experience and rediscover themselves.
  • The male species will always have sexual desire, it is part of being human; however, controlling that desire can lead to self – mastery/ discipline. Self-discipline is essential in becoming a greater human. Self-mastery/ discipline cannot be accomplished with one who has weakness. Weakness meaning bad habits, addictions, emotional problems. Weakness must be confronted and controlled. In addition, medicine is a weak and temporary solution.

  • In a ruling system, leaders should always fear its underestimated lower social classes. The number of those in a lower social class can be large and could possess greater knowledge or even strategy.
  •  Intelligence and strategy are tools to success.
  • It is my unfortunate belief that technology has the ability to be the solution to all problems; however, this could be used for good as much as it can be used for evil.

One has to do their best to refrain from showing their illness the best they can to be socially active. • Ideas, decisions, and actions dictate humanity.

An example is:  Question: “Can you please come to my party?” Answer: “I’m sorry, I will be busy.” One gives a statement declining an offer without a full reason. Some learn with more of their right brain while others might learn more with their left brain. Individuals that learn with their left brain are usually creative, while students that learn with their right brain are more mathematical. However, I find that some left brain learners can be a little or very dyslectic. The condition of their dyslexia can be different from others. This makes learning certain subjects, such as math and English, more of a challenge. Furthermore, if all students learn the same way, and those who are dyslectic fall behind, shouldn’t we have classes that specifically cater to those who are dyslectic? Perhaps it would be more desirable, while all students are learning together, to apply auditory, visual, and allow curricular subjects to have hands on experience.

This, to me, gives meaning to be human.
  • For one who wants to end their life, find a good song to listen to. If you cannot find one, then I recommend “In the Arms of an Angel by Sarah McLaughlin.” Listen to it and find comfort to overcome the fog of emotions.
  • Life is interesting. This is a personal story. When I was going to get my wisdom teeth pulled, I became terrified from listening to others. When it came time from my wisdom tooth to get pulled, I made my prayers and became calm as if I was going to sleep forever. During awakening after the operation, I can vividly picture myself waking up. It was a dark mix of yellow/orenge to brown and black. The colors were distorted as I had been lying in a pile of debris and rubble. Before I woke up I remember feeling the slight pull of my lower tooth. It didn’t hurt. If the dentist were to pull it a minute later, I probably could have felt everything and most likely would have turned into the hulk with rage. Eventually, as if crawling out of the rubble, I saw the dentist. I wiggled my foot to give them a sign that I was awake. The dentist’s assistant patted me on the leg telling me that the doctor was sowing my lower gums and that I was almost finished. Then the doctor cut the lace and I was completely thankful it was over. Before leaving the dentist office, I was carted in a wheel chair. I got up and was walking to the front door when the nurse surprisingly told me to sit back down before I hurt myself. I’m sure it was because of the side effect of the medication they used during the operation. So I walked all the way back to the wheel chair and sat back down to have someone cart me through the door and out to the car. Policies can be lame sometimes. I spent the rest of the after playing Minecraft and enduring the pain. I refused to take the medication and preferred the iron taste of blood and terrible surgery aftertaste. Don’t ask me why I didn’t take the pain medicine. I wanted to prove to myself that I could handle it. It was foolish and extremely painful, but it was a wonderful experience. My brother that had his wisdom teeth pulled a week before mine took the entire week to recover from the pain (he also broke the window of our car with his foot, because he was furious from dad waiting to get his medicine at Kroger; he claims he was “under the influence of the drugs used in surgery). I took only two days to recover from the pain. Now every time I place my tongue in the gap where my wisdom tooth use to be, I feel the experience of making peace with death before the surgery and the cynical pain and taste I foolishly endured on purpose.

  • I love watch videos on Youtube, I’m a huge geek for tech, games, and animations. Occasionally I come across offensive and strange material. Unlike other individuals, I do not take what I’m watching personally. Instead, I think about the video and move on. The reason being is that I respect the ideas and decision of others. Their life is none of my business. I can correct them, but I rather be mindful, because I do not know what the individual is like. I think this form of respect, tolerance, and self-moderation is a wise tool for social harmony.
  • To me, leaving a legacy or not leaving a legacy, doesn’t really matter. I just want to make progress for myself that my progress could be used for the greater good of the world and future.
